I just installed SQLView 3.0.2 on DNN 4.6.2 and did the same test and it comes back with 'Column 1' for a heading and 'hello' for the single row as expected. All I did was put SELECT 'hello' in the query input as you did.
Is this a new install of 4.6.2 or an upgrade?

Just got it working. I clicked on URL instead of File under Link Type and it worked. By default the File option is selected, but I didn't change this as I thought it would have nothing to do with the report. I tried switching it back to File and sure enough the report disappears!
PS. I am on a new install of DNN 4.6.2. using SQL 2000 on a Windows Server 2003.
